That's why losing Fountain didn't matter, and why all this talk of Querious ihubs in systems that aren't strategically valuable as a route into Delve or even in space that's being inhabited is just a waste of time. We can cede territory all day long, but as long as we can still form fleets, still keep the majority of our assets safe and usable, then the war isn't over. Lee loses the Civil War because he couldn't keep his army in the field anymore, so his men went home. You can take all their cities, but if they're still fighting, the war isn't over.īritain loses the Revolution because Washington kept his army in the field until Britain got bored and went home. So long as one side has an Army in the field, it doesn't matter how much territory they cede - to win the war, you have to defeat that army in the field, make them stop showing up for fights. This war is an equivalent to the American Revolution or the Civil War. That's the thing - sov space is not a crucial mechanic at all if the goal is to obliterate the other side and stop them from being a force in the game. Do you disagree? Or do you really think that we haven't made any progress? Then also to say that we aren't making progress in our invasion just because we haven't yet gated our capital fleet through T-CAG when there's plenty of other avenues of attack we have been making progress in is an intellectually bankrupt point of view and really only serves as a narrative spin tactic. It's still engaging in offensive sov warfare, and would be dumb if you folks didn't. Even if it's just to reset ADMs so you can structure spam troll or keep us from being able to cyno jam, etc. It makes sense too, because then that puts us on the defensive, pulling away from our offensive actions in order to hold our ground and staging points. So would it not make sense that even in a defensive war, it's in your interest to hit our sov too? Your military leaders seem to think so given that such is exactly what they've been trying to do with their entosis efforts. With how structures are critical tools in our ability to push the battle lines and staging points, all of that is tied to sov holdings. If we're going to achieve the goal of annihilation of the Imperium, we aren't going to do it without flipping ihubs, plain and simple. However, that's also heavily discounting the fact that sov space is a crucial mechanic for both attack and defense and it behooves you to engage in sov warfare even if the end result isn't about holding the sov itself. I can see where you're coming from about the end result of the war and really it not being a "sov war", or sov space not being the "objective" and I would completely agree with you there. I'll extend to you the same courtesy if you'd like to talk further. Well it looks like you did plenty fine having an actual discussion about it without having to resort to your character act, congrats! Also, thanks for taking the time to respond without spin or narrative.
